Congratulations on the National Day of Limba Noastra!

‘Our language is the living soul of an awakened people. ‘It has risen up, breaking ‘the deadly shadows of sleep.’

Every year on the last summer day, 31 August, Moldova celebrates a traditional holiday - National Language Day - Limba Noastra. ‘Limba Noastra’ means “our language” or “mother tongue”, and the reason for the establishment of the holiday was the adoption of the Law on giving the Moldovan language the status of state language on 31 August 1989. This day has been a bank holiday ever since.
